HDD VS SSD in Laptops which is Better.

So hello friends in this post I will be talking about the laptops and its drive portion, I mean which drive is better for the performance of a laptop that is an HDD or SSD.

What is HDD?

HDD stands for Hard Disk Drive. If you are using a computer or a laptop then you must know what is a Hard Disk. Hard Disk or HDD is a device that is used to store your computer data. The storage that you get on your computer is with the help of HDD. Hard Disk Drive was very famous till the date when SSD was launched, but after launching SSD the hard disk or HDD lost its popularity. The Hard Disk drive is cheaper and is a reliable source of storing data. You can also use HDD to store your data externally just like a Pendrive. For using a Hard Disk Drive as a Pendrive you will have to buy an external HDD or you will have to buy a case for hard disk which will make your internal hard disk as external. The hard disk is much better than Pendrive as it has a huge space to store data like 250 GB, 500GB, 1TB, etc. and is available at a cheap price. The Hard Disk drive is a bit slower so is not compatible with playing games, or running software that takes much RAM. A Hard Disk runs with a magnetic property so can be damaged if it falls or its silicon chip is rough.

What is SSD?

SSD stands for Solid State Drive. So SSD is the latest drive and is the new way for laptop technology. SSD is very fast and secured, it has a solid body which means even it is falling it will not get damaged and your data will be secured. SSD has no moving parts so it is long-lasting and is very fast. SSD is meant for playing games and other professional works like App Building, Graphic Designing, Photo Editing, Video Editing, and other works. A solid-state drive is very costly but is durable. If you are using an SSD even if you will touch it you will not get a physical shock as it has no magnetic parts. SSD has launched a few years ago and has changed the speed of laptops and computers. The maximum capacity of an SSD is 1 TB till the day, many laptops like HP, Acer, Lenovo, etc has 512 GB of SSD and works very fine as compared to 1 TB HDD, so SSD is much better than HDD.

Comparison Between HDD and SSD

So till now, we know what is HDD and SSD. So now we will compare and check which one is better an HDD or SSD.

Price

So if we talk about price than HDD is cheaper than SSD. You can buy HDD or SSD from any online shopping website like Amazon, or Flipkart, or any other website.

Reboot and Speed

So if we talk about the reboot speed of your laptop if it has an HDD will be approx 22 seconds(for a new laptop) and if we check the reboot speed of an SSD then it is approx 8 seconds(for a new laptop). If you are using an SSD then your software will also open very fast.

Capacity

If we will talk about the capacity of an HDD and SSD then HDD comes with a variety of storage like 1 TB, 2 TB, 5TB, etc, but SSD comes with a capacity of 250 GB, 500 GB, maximum 1 TB. So in storage HDD is better but even 500 GB of SSD will be much faster than 2 TB of HDD.

There are many laptops that have both SSD and HDD, so I will suggest you take laptops that have both HDD and SSD just because SSD will decrease your reboot time and software opening speed. And HDD will give you a massive space to store data on your laptops. So I hope you liked the article so please comment and tell me your views about my article.
